Does it matter if you buy a bike at a bike shop or Target and Toys R Us? The bike, I had was a women Jamis Explorer Hybrid Comfort bike. It was a free rental from my school and I loved it. Now that I'm home and I'm looking to buy a bike. I was wondering if there is a real difference in buying a bike from a bike shop or Target / Toys R Us
The bike I'm looking is a comfort bike upright, mountain or hybrid, and not a road bike. I'm a biker recreation, trails of light, and eventually travel 14 miles.
After using the Jamis you will not be happy at all with a motorcycle down the target or Toys-R-Us. The good news is if you go to your local dealer Jamis, you will find the bike you had is a very reasonable price.
My friend is a bike shop, so I may be a little biased, but Id always recommend buying from a bike shop. They all have different price ranges, and you know people who know what they do put your bike together. Go to Target or Toys R Us and a high school kid store your bike together, and who knows what could happen. Also, if you need a guarantee of work done, where do you go? Target wont to do. You get what you paid for something and you are riding on and could get hurt, Id pay a little more and go to a bike shop.
The bikes sold at Target, Wal Mart, K-Mart, Toy R Us and other places such use of unwanted components. You'll be happy if the bicycle is still usable after a year. They are assembled by people who know nothing about bikes. Go to a real bike shop. You'll pay a little more, but you get a bike that has good size, well set up to equip you, well mounted and if there are problems later, they will take care of him.
Any bike you get a big box store will be undesirable. The frames are heavy and low quality. Other parts are Rock Bottom end and either break or wear at least a year, and if you care for him.
Always buy a bike shop. It is everything they sell. Would you go to a doctor who has also sold toys Hello Kitty?
You will receive a good quality bicycle to the bike shop and they will ensure that you get right, unlike the garbage that other non-specialty stores.
I doubt stick to bikes bike shop. The quality of components, you receive far outweighs those bought at the target. When we say that the components, we talk about levers, gears, gears, cranks and brakes. For the type of driving you'll do, the frame is of no consequence. It's just a way to hang your components.
A nice bike is a Trek 7100. $ 439.00
Its a decent price, decent components and a manufacturer of quality.
There is no comparison for the purchase of a bike at a bike shop from a store. A bike shop specializes in bikes, period. So if you need something on your bike serviced, or need to ask questions about maintenance, these guys know their business. Most people I know who work for a bike shop round of competition, so in practice what they preach.
It does not matter if it is Target or Toys R Us, they are both undesirable. Visit the local bike shop and test drive a bike comfort, you will feel the difference once you start pedaling.
The Jamis Explorer 1 is a high quality bike, you will not find anything close to that of a superstore.
