The SpeedSource Race Engineering team had a long drive at Lime Rock Park this weekend's Memorial Day.

The team faces a test of having only a few days to make adjustments to the transmission # 69 World / Freedom Harley-Davidson sponsored RX-8 that have suffered in the closing laps of the race at Laguna Seca that has been place the weekend before the Lime Rock event. However, the 69 # is a good job. And with the help of these people MazdaSpeed who had all the necessary parts flew straight in Connecticut. The SpeedSource crew, who worked tirelessly to make sure the race car ready, was also a great role.

Drivers Jose Armengol and Dan Allen were both new in the picturesque yet exciting 1.53 mile circuit and both were impressed.

Armengol said they were warned that the title seems simple but it takes a long time to learn and it can now attest to this firsthand. He added that there are nuances that only picked up on the end of the weekend, and he was sure they would still learning the track if they spent a whole month at Lime Rock Park. According to him, one tenth of a second, this track is really something and a password specific to this track is quite difficult with the field as close as it is.

Having qualified 18th, the 69 # will start the race from line 9.

With Armengol in the car, after dropping back to the top 22, reached the # 69 slot 14th hour of the race, 2.5 hours. In almost halfway through the race, Dan Allen took control of the RX-8 SpeedSource. Unfortunately, during a pit stop, the team visited a turn for the leading riders. The team never gave up despite falling all the way back as a lap 24 and soon Allen posted lap times over the head of the race. In the last part of the game, # 69, it would be all the way back to run in the 11th and back on the lead lap. Unfortunately, due to a failure of transmission, the car was stuck in gear.

Allen said that the only gear that was available was the 6th, so they went to at least finish the race and collect some points. He added that his team has learned a lot from the race last weekend and apply their efforts for their next race in Canada to come.

In the Drivers Championship points tables for the Koni Challenge Series ST class, Allen and Armengol remain in third place. The team reviews all loans again and challenged for podiums and victories at Mosport in Ontario, Canada June 15-17, after two difficult races that have made the # 69 finish below 10th place for the first time this season.
