Holidays hybrid cars ferry As people become more aware of environmental issues and aware of their actions, demand for hybrid cars, buy and rent has increased.
A hybrid car is a car that can run on two or more sources of fuel - usually an engine and an electric motor powered by batteries. The motor and batteries to help the engine work more efficiently which means you spend less fuel and emit fewer emissions.
The Toyota Prius is probably the most famous hybrid car. It was first released in 1997 and since then more than 10,000 Prius have been sold in Australia. The Australian government Green Vehicle Guide rates new site all vehicles based on greenhouse emissions and air pollution and fuel consumption. The Prius is currently the most powerful in all three with a fuel consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 km.
To give you an idea of what it means - a Hummer H3 Adventure has a higher fuel consumption of 13.2L/100km, Toyota Rav 4's fuel consumption is 9.6L, a Mercedes Benz C-Class C180K is 7.6L and Honda Civic sedan has a 1.8L 7.2L consumption. Toyota says the Prius is consuming 50% less than a comparably sized family car and one tank of fuel could theoretically get you over one thousand kilometers huge!
While hybrid cars are still very expensive to buy - a 1.5L Toyota Prius gasoline / electric CVT combination will cost $ 37,400 (from www.toyota.com.au ), the tenancy may be in your budget.
Conveying hybrids currently available for rent in France and the United States, but with car hire suppliers in adding more "green" cars to their fleets, only to grow in coming years.
Renting a hybrid costs more than renting a car companies even non-hybrid (because of supply and demand and the fact that hybrids are more expensive for the rental company to buy), but you save money on fuel and of course, it is better for the environment. Click here for more details.
