Future Road TaxA Greener Motoring future

A greener future means that you have a greener car!

What is at stake?

A " green car " is a vehicle that produces harmful emissions to the environment less than ordinary vehicles. It is a mistake that will cost the consumer more to have a greener car. Small cars are more environmentally friendly due to a certain extent, because they consume less fuel burn and therefore less emissions. In addition to saving money on road tax and petrol.

CO2 emissions contribute to global warming, causing climate change. This turn in the weather effects and causes of the worlds weather extremes occur more frequently with more severity.

To avoid this, a concerted effort to reduce the carbon footprint they must be taken. A major step toward what would be the development of means of transport used for a transportation more environmentally friendly or invest in a greener car.

Other forms of fuel

There were different fuel supplied for use in cars and other vehicles that the CO2 emissions lower significiantly.

Petrol, Diesel reduced emissions of CO and HC, but not yet emit higher levels of NOx. This can reduce the air quality in urban areas.

LPG and CNG, which are usually converted from Pertola powered cars, or by the original manufacturer or converter parts. LPG and CNG tend to be bi-fuel, meaining they can run on gasoline or gaseous fuel. LPG vehicles have a tendency to fall between petrol and diesel performance CO2. LPG tend to fall between petrol and diesel in terms of CO2 emissions. This is due to the low carbon content and higher energy of the mass of fuel. NMC offers CO2 emissions even lower than LPG. LPG can be seen very similar to diesel. CNG also emits CO, HC, NOx and particles. In terms of performance, CNG and LPG are as good as gasoline.

Hybrids, Hybrids combine an internal combustion engine with an electric motor and battery. 3 The hybrid energy sources can work with each other in various ways to achieve. Hybrid offers reduced fuel consumption and reduced CO2, and the possible reduction of certain pollutants. This is an excellent example of a greener car .

Biofuels Biofuels reduce CO2 emissions drastically compared to gasoline and diesel. Most biofuels are sold in a mixture of gasoline / diesel accounting for 5% of fuel used by the greenest vehicle.

Flexi-Fuel, Flexible Fuel is a mixture that works on 85% bioethanol and 15% gasoline. However, there are now retail sites that offer this limited fuel. Flexi-fuel is compatible with existing vehicles. Some manufacturers offer 'flexi-fuel "vehicles can run on E85 bio ethanol - a blend of bio-ethanol 85% and 15% gasoline, and gasoline fuels. There are currently limited retailers who sell this bio-fuel, but this number will grow.

The measures already taken in the United Kingdom to reduce emissions with a greener car

In March 2001 Budget the Chancellor announced the extension of the lower rate of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) to cover private cars and light goods (PLG) taxation class of engine size 1549cc or less.

Since March 2001, a system of VED was gradual.
