How do you think of diesel-powered cars? How do you think of cars powered by diesel. This new section:

talking about a really good car, but as it is diesel, they do not want to bother trying to sell to the United States. Ford says Americans do not like diesel. What do you think?
I have been driving without mine.I 30.000 miles the last two years.Either plant waste, or waste engine, transmission oil.
I wish that Americans would give a chance diesel diesel performing better than hybrids, but people here think they need big SUVs and trucks. Not everyone wants to drive BIG SUVs and trucks, Ford and others need to find a way to get diesel cars (with automatic) for sale here, should the sales of VW! Flag
I Heward about it, I think we should let it be made here in the U.S. where we need it most
I drove the new BMW diesel. It is a fine automobile and an improvement over gasoline, but only a small step towards where we should be. We need to build nuclear plants to mass produce [that already exist, see '] Tesla all-electric cars, which cover 90% of our daily needs, and to restrict the use of petroleum-based fuels for those really need. Locomotives could use fuel cells. Semi's could still need a diesel.
Why they are better for the environment:
They burn so clean they do not need catalytic converters
They are more fuel efficient (newer technology than the gasoline engine)
Their engines last much longer and are simpler and less prone to break down (which preserves the environment)
It's true Americans do not like diesel because those who buy new cars do not have a car to save on fuel .. or keep the car for a long period. (People who buy used not care)
Perhaps if American companies focused on the resale value, people would find another reason to buy Ford or Chevrolet ..
If the Americans do not understand why diesel is diesel trucks increasingly popular every year? The only problem with diesel is not convenience diesel pumps so it can be difficult to find the end of the night. More diesel cars would be more prompt retailers to sell fuel.
If you want to have a locomotive fuel cell, you would only provide 75% of the cargo of diesel and it would cost twice as much. Hydrogen is not a fuel, its a very inefficient battery. The mass of steel to contain H2 is huge and should have cars full of H2 for wear. Then, to top it all, there is no fuel cell big enough to make the intensity required to take a train.
Diesel is still dirty, so dirty that catalyst converts any butcher with soot and stop working, so they do not always use a catalytic converter.
lower cost than the diesel fuel more so when you do the cost per mile. This is not much better. In 2005, before the diesel has added billions of tons of SO2, which automatically turns to sulfuric acid in the air.
Today, diesel is closer to gasoline levels of pollution, but it puts more CO2/mile than gasoline.
Personally, I like diesel cars. In fact when I was in the market for a replacement vehicle I considered buying a diesel pick up, but it was more truck than I needed. Like to find a small diesel engine from a late 80s VW Rabbit, and build a car around the engine. with a turbocharger installed, I could get about 140hp engine, and a light car. even with an automatic, it formance decent.
