Diesel Electric Hybrid

Diesel Electric HybridWhy not make car manufacturers diesel / electric hybrid engines for trucks and SUVs?

Car ..... or even beyond. Is it a diesel / electric hybrid even possible?

Manufacturers really can do whatever they want because they have R & D and know-how on these products. construction of a diesel hybrid is as simple as replacing the gasoline engine of the Prius with a diesel. However, there are a lot of politics involved in this. America as a country gets the lowest price per gallon than any other country in the world from the perspective of the customer. Because they are the biggest customer and can get away with better discounts / Bargains others. However, to remain the biggest consumer, they can not allow the common man to have vehicles that suddenly start using only half the amount of oil they are now. It would hurt the oil companies too. Even the producers and operating inside America.
This is not a big deal in countries like India and those of Europe because they do not receive these great prices by Barrell anyway. They therefore have no choice but to choose alternatives to gasoline as diesel, they are already.
This is one answer to your question. There are theories on the most pollution is caused by the use of diesel etc. also play their role.
In addition, a diesel engine is expected to cost more in maintenance since the entire process is dirtier than a gasoline engine. carbon formation and engine problems are more sludge in diesel engines than gasoline. However, these are not problems that can not be fixed by an R & D
I hope that answers your question.

The short answer is yes .. they can be built. The trains have used for years. The problem is that diesel fuel is more polluting engines are heavier and much more expensive to design, engineering and production of an existing gas engine that can be quickly converted into a hybrid vehicle instead than designing an entirely new engine for a car or truck. And diesel fuel prices can vary much more than gas because of the demand for hours more for heating oil ... which is the same as diesel ... demand for shipping by semi-trailers or increased use in spring and autumn for the farmers' planting and harvesting. The U.S. car and light truck fleet has always been more suited to gas engines with prices low fuel, so it would require a major investment in development, such as diesel and some European countries others. Because companies generally do not want to invest in anything that does not probablility high fruit. With the new laws to lower sulfur is adopted, it could make diesel cars more attractive in many respects, but rising gasoline prices could offset this.
