What is the difference between the d16y8 and d16z6 engine in the Civic EX 99? Which one do I? I was looking for bolt on mods for it on different sites, but I noticed they sell, either for the d16y8 or d16z6 engines, and I'm not sure the engine is in mine. How do I know which I? I'm driving a Civic automatic 99 U.S..
Is this just for the manual and the other for the car?
You have a D16y8! They are 96-2000 Civic Ex. The D16z6 is 92-95 Civic EX. The D16y8 has like 2 more power and torque, but basically the same thing they just have different intake manifolds. A large number of modules bolt pass two engines

The Z6 is badass my friend is running 220 WHP with this engine .. stimulated if its .. then ... its still badass and my boyfriend has another Y7 and put a VTEC head and wiring, then got the mani y8intake and its pretty badass .. even stimulated .. but I'm VTEC ... but the engine wouldnt you have the si .. b / c that is entered in the year 99 (which I know you have), but the IS is like running municipal ... it comes only stick ... if u have the ex .. which automatically means that you'd have the Y7 ... you not like horses ... lol .. but damn good gas gas well ... But if you wish to obtain, as the fuel consumption as uber 55-60, then get the VTEC-E swap ... drop it on your frames perfectly and plug and play ... meaning theres nothing but just plugging everything right and your good to go ... no wiring .. nothing ... write-in. and go: D
