I have a 2006 BMW X5. My service engine light just this morning. What are the possible problems? How do I turn off the service engine light?
Ok, time for the correct answer.
The service engine light comes on when there is a problem with the car issue. If the car does not run bad, it is not critical, but must be corrected. The most common problem in light of the BMW engine service cap is loose, the car was driven up when running the gas cap or a bad seal. Make sure it is tight and if that is the problem, he died within a day or two. There are hundreds of other possible reasons he came on. If it does not go in one day or you'll need to put in for examination.
Hope this helps
The dealer has to turn it off.
Unless there is a problem, the light means it's time for the service. Probably needs an oil change.
Call your dealer and make an appointment for service. They have a car loan for you. Do not wait or blow it, it is possible to light could mean a problem (I doubt it, but who knows). Take it as soon as possible.
It is a Catch 22, they have the key and you do. Unfortunately, unless you can find in the book or online, you must enter the dealer for repair to turn off the light.
The car needs a routine service. does it take for a dealer who will service the car and turn off.
