A manual transmission is good not even an option on what is supposed to be a car driver. If I spent £ 38k + on a car I want the option of a gearbox good!

Why not let me BMW is this?

The engines produce x35d 580 Nm of torque. BMW did not gear that fits all models with this engine (3, 5 and 6 series) and is able to withstand the forces involved.

Certainly they are capable of building such a gearbox but perhaps it will be too expensive (or rather more than the automatic transmission) or they think that with so much power and speed range reduced diesel engine You can not get your hand shifter ;-)

The BMW fuel, you can get with a manual, maybe you could watch instead. Or if you just want a diesel engine because of its better fuel economy and reliability, I think you can fight with these models. BMW diverted to manual gearbox in the series, because the transmission could not handle the torque reliably. It also has to do with cars more environmentally friendly, especially in diesel. An automatic transmission does not allow the car to pack and use fuel unnecessarily.

As they felt that the market would not receive this transmission and that the driver may be a lack of demand for the quarter-pole.

There is a growing problem. The CL600 had this problem a few years ago, do not know if they added this option now or not. But the fact of the matter is that people are increasingly buying black boxes today and I am afraid manual trannys got a bit rare.

car manufacturers (like everyone else) say they give you what you want. they think they know what is right. Today, you're likely to have to pay extra for a manual transmission, even if they are less expensive way and do not require nearly the amount of electronics. or if they put a manual trans, it will perform worse than the self / e-gear (new M5). Hell, some cars I could buy, I would like with seats and manual windows, and less electronics. ha, good luck for me.

Last time I checked it was an option. You really have to look good. I was so disappointed because I thought they came to this stupid electronic one ... but then I found it.

Because the automobile and semi-automatic box is much better. Speaking from experiance on my 325i will never go back to a manual again !!!!!

you should be able to .. my boyfriend driving a BMW 5 Series and its manual

in the real world (not testing) the auto boxes are faster than manuals So what's the point?
