What is the greatest mileage of a BMW 528 series get? I think buying a 1999 BMW 528, it has about 128.000 miles. I drive a lot, so I wanted to know how many miles are generally good cars? and if someone knows something else about BMW cars. I heard they are good cars.
I have no experience with long-term 1999, but each series 5 I have owned (4) has well over 200,000 miles. A (a 533i 1984) 312 000 when I sold it still in progress. Very good car. My last car (1989 525i) had 235,000 before a wreck ended his life. Take care of it, buy one that someone took charge and references, and keep on fluid changes. They may be "fluid lifetime," as they say the trans fluid on some BMWs are, but change. No fluid is lifetime. He needs any changes. Thats my two bits.
200K + miles is well understood and documented, it is a reliable car, but it will be more maintenance than the old. A large number of suspension parts to replace. Truly the mileage is not the key factor to decide. 128k miles I would have preferred if all maintenance has been done and easy preventive maintenance supported, then a 50K mileage car that has not been well supported and no documentation.
