can someone tell me where I can download a. I went to the Sustrans website, but can not get a good map from there. I think I want to Highway 62, but every time I tried to get a more detailed roadmap, I am disappointed.

It started in Liverpool at least ... You just have to buy a local map, simply browse before you buy to make sure its a decent enough level that you want.

try installing Google Earth and the use of hybrid maps
