Why we have not developed CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) as an alternative fuel for automobiles? In many countries it is used as a cheaper fuel, why not in France?
It has been done, and I saw cars with CNG stickers. Unfortunately, as someone said earlier, there is not enough to provide stations with gas, according to statistics, most of these vehicles run on gasoline most of the time ( they are equipped for both types of fuel).
Other answers did not explain why a lot of effort goes into the supply becomes more for her. Report Abuse
it is used in many parts of the western United States that have an abundance of natural gas.
its very popular in the State of Utah, where it sells for the equivalent of about $ 1 a gallon, or a little more.
do a little research on your computer, there were a number of items of new CNG vehicles in use in the last 2 months ..
Companys many utilities and natural gas Companys manage their fleets of cars and trucks on CNG. their usually marked by little blue flame symbol. the search in your city. you'l be surprised by the number you see.
The only reason it is cheaper in other countries because the government does not tax it as much (even with the GPL).
As to why not use the United States, could it be that solving the problem of foreign oil with natural gas abroad (probably the same country as the oil) does not really solve any problem ?
Why fueling stations in the absence of cars?
Why buy a car if no fueling station?
We first need to obtain local government vehicles converted (and supply their own stations), the cars of the fleet converted company (and supply their own stations), then the public will have stations refueling and then buy cars.
There are vehicles powered by propane! Natural gas (methane) I think it would be unstable in liquid form. Better use is to heat homes in low-pressure gaseous form. I could be wrong, but the essence is much more BTUs of natural gas.
because cities like Exxon with the interests of fossil fuels have been having a negative campaign against her for decades to be "dangerous".
They have long since developed the cars, buses, etc. They just never had the CNG distribution (stations) installation for the public.
We have developed these -

Methane does not allow it to be very little compressed. This is why tanks are so large.
The tanks are too damn big on cars ..
