Future Acura Cars Acura, the manufacturer of quality Acura catalytic converter is to offer three new and exciting cars: 2, model year 2008 and as a 2009 model year. These three cars are RDX 2008, 2008 MDX and 2009 Acura NSX.
The RDX is the same roofline, greenhouse, and C-pillars of the concept vehicle last year. However, the doors are different. This is not only due to the handles. In the concept last year, the rear doors were cut into the wheels. But for the manufacture, their shape is faced.
Under the hood of RDX is the first turbocharged engine for either Honda or Acura vehicles in the street. The all-new 2.3-liter i-VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine yields 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a manual transmission or five-speed automatic with steering wheel mounted on the steering wheel. Standard with this vehicle is Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, standard front, side and curtain airbags. The vehicle also comes with the Acura Navigation System with traffic reports in real time and an ELS DVD-Audio surround sound stereo.
The RDX will be part of the small cross on premium sector, with the Land Rover Freelander and the Audi Q5.
An SUV to compete with the Mercedes-Benz ML and the Lexus RX300, the 2008 Acura MDX is designed for straight to the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne. To get the same performance level as it competitors, Acura's engineers built the vehicle parts at the Nuerburgring in Germany, which is known for its ability to produce quality parts that will give the driving dynamics.
The exterior of the new MDX exposes several improvements. Frank Paluch, chief engineer of the two original MDX models and second generation said that their goal was to offer a family package stealth. This was done by the design team by lowering the visual center of the new MDX, which they call the C-line. The D-pillar has also been heavily tilted forward to be confused with the third row of seats. Paluch added the new MDX seems smaller, but wider, longer and lower.
Acura is in doubt about the performance powertrain, but Paluch said their goal is for the best in its class V-6 performance.
Last but certainly not least among the Acura, the NSX is 2009. The conceptualization of the next NSX is not yet final. Automobilemag.com said Honda is still finalizing what type of car it should be and what will be his appearance.
The mid-engine Honda HSC concept will be more visible on the next NSX. The new vehicle will be front engine, not mid-engine from the car mentioned in the first place. Honda Motor, Takeo Fukui, Chief Executive declared a ten-cylinder engine that frustrated employees from Japan to California, Ohio, who would develop a V-8 that could be used in a wider range of products, as a good flagship sedan for Acura.
