2004 Bmw 330ciUsed 2004 BMW 330CI For Sale - Is BMW after a deserved reputation for poor security?

I'm considering buying a used BMW 330CI 2003-2004. This is factory warranty past or about to cross (I'm looking for around $ 23k asking price, which puts me right around 45-50k miles). If I buy CPO for two years additional warranty 50k miles asking price jumps to $ 30k.

I intend to own the car for at least 4 years, so anyway I spent the CPO extended warranty. Is it the reputation of being so prone to BMW costly repairs deserved? Is it trying to save $ 7k is not having that coverage extended warranty? And mechanical failure of the protection of a third viable alternative?

Thank you!

The chance that something will go wrong with the engine or transmission on a BMW is low. However, if they fail, they are very expensive to correct.

Used engines are around $ 4000, handed down to approximately $ 2,500. If you go new, you can at least double. And that does not include $ 100 per hour of work you have to pay to the BMW shop.

Not only the important things, or, electrical problems occur with these cars. Paying a shop $ 100 an hour for a short drive away is not no joke. Basically anything that would cost $ 100 to fix on a Chevrolet cost $ 200 on the BMW. Oh, and have you checked how much are oil changes? You'll love it.

They are very nice cars. But there are reasons why the extended warranty are much higher than other cars.

Personally, I would not drive a BMW out of warranty.

Check www.carsurvey.org and see what other BMW owners say.

Good luck!
